Re: Conflict Diamonds
As of January 1, 2003, forty-six (46) countries throughout the world, including the United States, implemented the Kimberly Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) to combat illicit traffic in conflict diamonds. Conflict diamonds are rough diamonds used by rebel governments or their allies to finance conflict aimed at undermining legitimate governments. Trade in conflict diamonds compromise international peace and human security and hamper economic and social development in affected countries.
Kiefer Village Jewels, in compliance with the KPCS, is committed to eliminating the trade of conflict diamonds. We ensure that every diamond we buy and sell has come from legitimate transactions. All our suppliers are required to comply and guarantee that any diamond and/or merchandise containing diamonds mined after January 1, 2003 meets the regulations as agreed upon by the World Diamond Council.
If you have any questions regarding conflict diamonds or Kiefer Village Jewels policy regarding conflict diamonds, please feel free to ask.
Respectfully,
David M. Hevia
